FFPC Main Event rules and prizes

Researched 2026-09-10 from the official FFPC rules (2026 League Rules, Main Event page, Rules Explained).

Format

  • 12-team leagues, 20-round draft, 20-man roster, no IR, no trades.
  • Draft order: plain serpentine. Official wording: "1-12 in round one, 12-1 in round 2, 1-12 in round 3, etc." There is no third-round reversal. From slot 3 our picks are 3, 22, 27, 46, 51, 70, 75, 94, 99, 118, 123, 142, 147, 166, 171, 190, 195, 214, 219, 238.
  • Starting lineup (11): QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, 2 FLEX (RB/WR/TE), K, D/ST. Bench 9.
  • Weekly lineups (not best ball). Player locks at his game's kickoff.
  • Waivers: blind-bid FAAB, $1,000 for the season, runs Wednesday 11 PM ET and Sunday 10 AM ET. Only the 4 playoff teams can add players in weeks 13-14.
  • Week 1 special rule: because drafts run after the Wednesday/Thursday openers, every team may set or edit its week 1 lineup retroactively for those games.
  • 60-second clock in live/online drafts.

How you win

  • Weeks 1-12: head-to-head, each team once. Week 6 is all-play (top 6 scorers get a W).
  • Seeding: 1-seed best record, 2-seed most points among the rest, 3-seed next best record, 4-seed next most points.
  • Weeks 13-14: league playoffs (1 v 4, 2 v 3, then final).
  • Weeks 15-17 Championship Round: every league's 1-seed and 2-seed advance automatically, plus the league champion and any top-2% overall team (about 90 teams). Roughly 20% of the field advances. Ranked by total points weeks 15-17 plus your regular-season points-per-game (PPG counts like a fourth week).
  • Consolation round (top 20% overall who missed playoffs) and Toilet Bowl exist with small prizes.

What this implies for the draft

  1. Two ways to reach weeks 15-17: win your league's record race or its points race. Points-per-game matters twice (2-seed and the PPG carry-over), so a high-scoring, high-floor weekly lineup is the core goal, not just upside.
  2. TE premium (1.5 PPR) with 2 FLEX means elite TEs are near-WR1 assets and a second good TE is a legitimate flex starter.
  3. No trades and only $1,000 FAAB mean bench depth and handcuffs must come from the draft; 9 bench spots + 20 rounds reward drafting 6+ RBs and 7-8 WRs.
  4. Weeks 15-17 decide the million. Prefer players with soft weeks 15-17 schedules as tiebreakers and avoid week 15-17 questionable situations.
  5. Byes: 2026 byes run weeks 5-14 with none in week 12. Week 6 is all-play, so week 6 byes hurt a bit more.
